Chapelton Cottages are located in beautiful Dumfries and Galloway, which spans the western part of the Southern Uplands. There are plenty of sandy beaches, rocky coastlines, forests and lochs galore to explore during your Scottish holiday.

Towns & villages

The nearby harbour and artists’ town of Kirkcudbright (Kir-coo-bree) is a delight to visit, with events taking place throughout the year. The streets are dotted with colourful houses. Plus it has an array of independent shops, art galleries and museums as well as castle ruins that overlook the harbour and town. There’s a choice of cafes, takeaways, pubs and restaurants too.

Chapelton Cottages have easy access to the A75, which leads along to Stranraer to the west or to Gretna to the east. There’s lots more towns and villages to discover along the way. Including Wigtown (Scotland’s book town), Gatehouse of Fleet, Castle Douglas, Dalbeattie, Kippford and Dumfries to name just a few.
